Touring Paris

Today we hit the town...first stop the Eiffel Tower of course! The girls were so excited to see it, and I don't think it disappointed them. We didn't go up the tower today, but we may still have a chance before we leave. The first picture is of Ruthie pointing out where the Eiffel Tower is on a Metro map.

After a bit of a walk we ate and then walked through a bit of the Musee d'Orsay. Here is housed famous paintings by Van Gogh, Degas, Renoir, and many other Impressionists. One painting that Tonye and I have been waiting years to see is also there; it is called "The Disciples" and is a magnificent picture of John and Peter running to the tomb. We also saw some very famous "ballet" paintings and sculptures by Degas, which of course Chante loved.

Tonight we ate at the Cite de Universatie, which is home to many of Paris' university students. We met up with our new friends from Agape France and we were able to encourage some students during dinner. We then went on a driving tour of Paris at night! What a beautiful sight! The Eiffel Tower actually sparkles for 10 minutes every hour of the night and the Champs de Elysees had just been decorated with amazing blue lights that looked like they were dripping off of the trees.

So, overall it was an amazing day. And the Lord answered our prayers as we all got through the day without a nap, so we should sleep through the night and wake up on Paris time!
